China jails members of banned Mentuhui/Disciples Sectamid religion crackdown

“China has jailedmembers of what the government calls a cult for causing deaths, organizing thegroup and illegally collecting money, state media said on Tuesday, part of acrackdown on what Beijing views as dangerous religious movements… The official Xinhua news agency on Tuesday said YaoXiangzhi, a member of Mentuhui, or “DisciplesSect” in the central province ofHubei, caused the death of another cult member by denying him freedom, food anddrink for a week while people prayed for his recovery from schizophrenia.
